I am Annette, a designer, illustrator, art director and artist. Growing up I always loved doodling and drawing comics. During high school I became obsessed with sketching and painting. After graduating at the International School of Design in Cologne I worked as an art director at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Düsseldorf. After marriage and becoming the mother of two beautiful children, I established my freelance business FRAUFREUDEDESIGN in 2011. In 2018 I decided to end this business. It was time to take on a new task:

Currently I work as an art-teacher at a primary school as a side-entrant and I love it!

I am still a member of the Illustrators Organisation (IO).

And recently I started blogging as “annettepalette” to share all my art stuff.

If you are looking for a graphic designer I can recommend Julia Kießling von Kmedia!

What materials do I use?
I use a variety of tools and paints. Mostly I use watercolor, ink, fineliners and pastels. You will find a list of materials I currently use or have used in the past → *here*.

Did I go to art school?
I got a Master’s degree in Design at the “Köln International School of Design” (KISD). The KISD is not an art school. Design should be conceptional and functional with a specific purpose and that’s why I separate design FRAUFREUDEDESIGN and my art annette palette.

Am I doing commissioned work?
Yes! If you are interested, please write an email to contact@fraufreudedesign.com

Can you use my art for a T-shirt design/book/band/website?
If you’re wanting to use my work for your personal fun, go ahead!
But if you want to make duplicates, prints, or use it to sell anything please send an e-mail and we can try to work something out.

Any other questions?
If you still have questions, feel free to send an e-mail or tweet me @annette_palette.
